Stand Up Paddle Boarding Adventures
Taking to the water is an incredible way to explore.
Traditionally, kayaks and canoes have been the craft of choice but the increase in popularity of Stand Up Paddling has opened up a whole new option for those nature lovers and weekend warriors to tour the many rivers and water ways.
Inflatable board technology has come a long way with new board quality enabling a stable, smooth and efficient ride, even with your kit packed on the deck!
I was lucky enough to join SUP Norway in 2019 and experience first-hand the thrill and awe of paddling the Fjords.
As the trip drew to end, I set a goal to introduce a SUP tour option to my list of Perth SUP School activities.
A world-wide pandemic threw a spanner in the works, so I added mini tours to my Adventure Weekend retreats.
Now, in 2024, the planets have aligned and I’m ready to embark on a multi day paddling and camping expedition!
In Western Australia, we are spoilt for choice with locations to explore the south west region, so it’s the obvious place to begin our SUP adventures.
The stunning Blackwood River flows from Arthur and Balgarup Rivers. It meanders through Nannup and Bridgetown then eventually ripples past Augusta on the Hardy Inlet out into the Southern Ocean.
This trip is a test run to work out logistics, trial my gear and find the perfect camping locations.
I’m excited to hit the water and join forces with fellow SUP chicks, to explore the Blackwood River – SUP Goribilup!
I’d love you to follow our journey – check out Perth SUP School on Facebook and Instagram (if you haven’t already)
Start getting excited for your chance to join me…….dates and details coming soon!
